Product idea
Two levels, no electronics, no complicated parts.
The cat uses the upper pellet tray like a normal litter box. Under it, a shallow drawer catches loose material so you can pull, dump, rinse, and slide it back.
Upper pellet tray
Rear drop slot or drilled floor
Lower pull-out drawer

Materials
Buy the boring parts. Build the useful box today.
Plastic storage bin large enough for your cat to turn around
Shallow tray or drawer that slides under the main box
Cutting board or thin plastic panel for the raised floor
Drill, 6 to 10 mm bit, utility knife, file, and sandpaper
Wood or paper pellet litter
Tape, screws, rubber feet, and a small handle if needed
Build steps
The fastest version for today.
Keep the footprint compact, but do not make the inside cramped. If your cat cannot turn around, it may refuse the box.
- 1
Cut a low front entry so the cat can walk in without jumping.
- 2
Raise the litter floor above the shallow drawer using the cutting board or plastic panel.
- 3
Add holes or a rear drop slot so broken pellets and loose debris can fall down.
- 4
Smooth every cut edge and hole from both sides before the cat uses it.
- 5
Add a small lip around the upper litter area so fresh pellets stay on top.
- 6
Slide the drawer below, add pellet litter, then test by gently tilting the top tray.
Reality check
Fine clay or crystal litter will fall through too easily, and solid waste will not magically separate every time. Use pellet litter, scoop solids daily, and empty the drawer when debris collects.
Catsift kit
The compact idea in one clean product page.

Pellet litter on top. Pull-out cleanup below.
Will poop drop automatically every time?
No. The honest simple version reduces digging and makes cleanup faster, but solid waste still needs daily scooping or a gentle tray tilt.
Why pellet litter?
Pellets are bigger than fine clay grains, so they are easier to keep on the top tray. Used pellets break down and can drop into the lower drawer.
How small can I make it?
Do not make the top box too tight. Most adult cats need at least about 18 x 14 inches of usable floor so they can turn around.
